Stores Data Analyst
This role can be offered on a hybrid basis working 2 days a week from Birmingham or Croxley
Join us as a Stores Data Analyst and play a key role in driving the success of Ernest Jones and H. Samuel, turning data into actionable insight that influences performance across our retail estate. Behind every successful store is a team making data-driven decisions that improve performance, enhance customer experiences and support our people to thrive.
Based in our Store Operations team, the Stores Data Analyst will play a key role in transforming retail data into meaningful insight that drives business performance across our store estate of approximately 250 stores and 2,000 colleagues. This role supports retail reporting, payroll analysis, forecasting and operational decision-making across the business.
What does the role involve?
As our Stores Data Analyst, you'll be at the heart of retail decision-making, partnering with Store Operations, Finance and senior retail leaders to provide accurate reporting, insightful analysis and recommendations that influence business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analysing retail data to identify trends, opportunities and performance improvements.
- Creating engaging dashboards and data visualisations that bring complex information to life.
- Producing accurate weekly, monthly, seasonal and annual reports.
- Supporting retail budgeting, forecasting and cost management activities.
- Working closely with Finance on period-end reporting and accounting processes.
- Maintaining retail master data across business systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Supporting projects that enhance Store Operations capability and improve ways of working.
- Turning data into actionable recommendations that help improve sales, productivity and profitability.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, detail-oriented and passionate about using data to solve business challenges.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience in a Data Analytics or Retail Analytics role.
- Strong experience using reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, lookups and pivot tables.
- The ability to translate technical information into clear, compelling stories and recommendations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical and structured approach.
- Confidence working independently while also collaborating effectively with stakeholders across the business.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
